The ASPCA lists tulips as toxic to dogs and cats. Compounds such as tulipalins irritate the mouth and gut, causing drooling, vomiting and diarrhea, and they're most concentrated in the bulb. Dogs that dig up bulbs can develop severe signs. Unlike true lilies, tulips don't cause kidney failure in cats, but chewing leaves or drinking vase water can still upset their stomachs.
How to give it / if eaten
If your pet ate a tulip bulb or a lot of flowers or leaves, call your vet or an emergency clinic right away. Share which part, how much and when, and bring a photo. Don't induce vomiting at home without a vet's instruction. Store bulbs out of reach too.
Watch for these signs
Drooling, vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. Eating a lot of bulb can cause severe signs like a racing heart, breathing changes and tremors.
